Lyon defender Rafael Da Silva claims that he is extremely happy at the French club and is not looking for a move away from the French team. There are reports that Besiktas may be making a move for the defender, who has been with Lyon since 2015. Besiktas is a hotbed when it comes to possessing Brazil footballers and it is one of the reasons behind Besiktas making a move for the defender. However, it would be extremely difficult to call Rafael Da Silva as a Brazilian at heart, as he has been playing in English football for a majority of his career.

After starting out with Fluminense as a teenager, Rafael Da Silva moved to English football back in 2008 when he was still in his teen ages. The small was crucial in taking away the Brazilian mentality from the right back, whose younger twin brother is also part of the game. After spending several campaigns with Manchester United, Rafael Da Silva took the difficult decision of moving to Lyon in 2015 so as to get more first-team football. This has proven to be the case with the defender making 72 appearances for the French team in the last three seasons, while he only managed 109 league games for Manchester United in almost twice that period.

“I feel happy and good in Lyon. I am ready to go out for 100%. As I said last season, nothing in my head has changed . I still want to continue my football at Lyon,” said the right back in a recent interview. Even if Da Silva makes the switch to Besiktas, it is unlikely to help him get a place back in the Brazilian national team. Due to his high profile at Manchester United, Da Silva has received two opportunities with the Brazil national team back in 2012. The 28-year-old has not featured for Brazil since then.
