AJAX TO BATTLE UNITED FOR EUROPA?

Dutch giants Ajax are almost set to face Manchester United in the Europa League final in Stockholm after their huge win over Lyon at Johan Cruyff Arena.

Hakim Ziyech was spectacular as he delivered three assists on the night. On loan Chelsea star Bertrand Traore scored in each half while goals from Kasper Dolberg and Amin Younesdid damage to the French side.

Ajax impressed their home side in Amsterdam with the brilliant display. The teeming crowd was delighted that the team made a first European semi-final for the first time in 20 years. The game started on an attacking note as both sides showed their might. The French were without brilliant goalscorer in Alex Lacazette as he was sidelined due to hamstring injury.

Lyon almost went ahead in the 11th minute as Lucas Tousart cut the ball back for Maxwel Cornet but Ajax keeper Andre Onana saved the ball with his leg. Ajax struggled to respond but they eventually did.

Dolberg was fouled so Ziyech sent a left-footed delivery that Traore connected to in the 25th minute. Younes continued to keep up the pressure against the visitors with his mazy run. Dolberg scored the second as he punished the opposition keeper for a poor clearance. Younes could have sealed the game before halftime but the keeper denied him.

After the break, the German under-21 star combined with Ziyech to get his goal. In the 66th minute, Lyon got a consolation as Mathieu Valbuena scored after a defensive error. Lyon pushed for another away goal but it never happened rather Ajax added the fourth through Traore.

Lyon full back Rafael Da Silva drove the ball forward but his effort was steered clear by Onana. Traore and teenage star Dolberg kept punishing the opposition until the referee called time on the game.

Jose Mourinho and his boys drew first blood as they won away. An epic clash is brewing between United and Ajax, even though the Red Devils are favoured to lift the title.
