The representative of Nabil Fekir has confirmed that his client could pursue a move away from Lyon at the end of the season. However, the France international is said to want to leave with respect, and the decision over a potential exit needs to be mutual between both parties. Speaking to the French press, Fekir’s representative admitted the 24-year-old does have plans to plying his trade for a top-ten European club in the future.

He said: “First and foremost we would respect Lyon. We know that, at some point, we may have to ask questions about a move. However, any decision will be taken with intelligence and in the interests of all parties. When you leave the club that trained you, to whom you owe everything, you must leave on good terms—if you have to leave. Nabil has the personal goal of being part of a top ten club in Europe, and he has that potential, but a career is built little by little.”

Fekir has progressed with the captaincy this season, and he has contributed 21 goals and a further six assists across all competitions for Lyon. Despite this, Les Gones could miss out on Champions League football for the second season on the trot with Marseille currently holding a two-point lead over them for the third position.

The Lyon graduate has normally plyed his trade in an attacking midfield role, but his qualities have also been on showcase up front or in central midfield, where he produced one of his best performances of the season against Paris Saint-Germain.

According to reports, Liverpool and Arsenal are said to be tussling for the highly-rated attacker, and it could all come to the valuation with Lyon understood to demand at least £44m for his proposed sale this summer. A decision on his future is likely to be made before this summer’s World Cup.
