Luke Shaw hints Manchester United may sign new players in January
Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has hinted that the club could sign new players when the transfer window reopens at the turn of the year. The Red Devils have experienced an average season where they have lingered below the top four and they are four points adrift of the Champions League places at the midway stage of the campaign.

Speaking on the club’s official website, Shaw said that the current squad has the quality which can be compared to the previous United sides which were challenge for the title. He added that he has the confidence in the manager and believes Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will welcome new arrivals during the winter transfer window.
He told: “I feel that the squad we have is no different from the squads that are challenging for the title. We’ve got such amazing players and some amazing young players who are still learning. I’ve got full confidence in this squad and in the manager. I’m sure he’ll be bringing in a few new players that can add to the strength of this team and take us back to the good old days of winning trophies.”
United have excelled against the teams in the top eight and they are unbeaten against them. However, that has not been the case when it comes to facing the mid-table teams and that has contributed to their current position in the standings. United recently ended a two-match winless league streak with a 4-1 triumph over Newcastle United and Solskjaer will be hoping that the club can build up on the result with a sequence of victories.
The Red Devils have an away league game at Burnley before the turn of the year but after that, things become tricky. Solskjaer’s side are due to travel to the Emirates Stadium to face Arsenal on New Year’s Day and thereafter, they are scheduled to face Wolves, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool in different competitions.
