Chelsea could be one of the club's interested in signing Manchester United right back Rafael Da Silva. Even though it is looking at highly unlikely that Sir Alex Ferguson will be willing to let one of his best players leave for a rival club, Chelsea have submitted a bid for the Portuguese.

The club are looking to replace Portuguese defender José Bosingwa, who is expected to leave the club at the end of the season. His contract comes to an end at the end of next month, but the club are yet to open negotiations with the defender. Even though they have the option of extending the deal by one year, it is thought that they have not taken the option.

As a result, the 29-year-old defender will be joining 26-year-old Saloman Kalou and 34-year-old Didier Drogba as the players to be released by the club at the end of the season. They are looking at the possibility of signing young right back who can be the perfect backup to Branislav Ivanovic, who has established himself as one of the best right back at Chelsea. Chelsea are expected to be extremely busy in the summer transfer window, as the squad needs a major rebuilding job, despite having won the Champions League title.

They have already signed Werder Bremen midfielder Marko Marin for a transfer fee of just £ 7 million. They are also linked with Lille midfielder Eden Hazard, who has recently revealed that he has already agreed terms with Manchester City, Manchester United, and Chelsea, in a £ 35 million deal. Eden Hazard has said that he will announce his decision in 10 days time. It is thought that Chelsea are the front-runners in the deal after submitting a contract offer of almost £ 200,000 per week in wages.
