Rafael da Silva will not be coming to West Ham during the summer contrary to some media reports.

His agent Cassiano Pereira has revealed that his client will be honoring the remaining part of his contract and that he will be staying in France.

Indeed there were media reports that West Ham might be making a bid for Lyon defender Rafael da Silva during the summer. However, his agent was keen to deny such rumors and ensure that his client is happy at the moment and has no intention to move back to the Premier League.

It is believed that West Ham are currently looking for a full-back and that they are on the market for a versatile player. There were some rumors in May that the Brazilian right-back might be available for the right amount.

West Ham have experienced some troubles with their defence last season which may have caused them to miss out on the Champions League places. Indeed at some point in the season, they were forced to use Michail Antonio as a right back. SlavenBilic will be keen to address this issue this season especially with West Ham having the ambition of improving their position in the table next season.

Rafael da Silva already have a vast experience of the Premier League after having spent 7 seasons with Manchester United. He only left the Red Devils last season when Louis van Gaal took over. At 24-years old, the player is still young and can still develop in one of the best right-backs in European football.
Rafael da Silva has insisted that he wants to focus on his football with Lyon at the moment and that he has no intention of moving to another club. He said that all these reports are just rumors created by the media.
