Atletico Madrid striker Fernando Torres has revealed that it was his teammate Steven Gerrard who convinced him to move away from Liverpool back in 2011.

Torres was vindicated heavily by Liverpool supporters after he switched to one of the club’s archrivals, Chelsea, for a fee of £ 50 million. Even though his Chelsea career was extremely successful by lifting numerous titles like the Champions League, it ended on a sour note since he was unable to replicate his Liverpool form. Since then, Torres has moved to the likes of AC Milan and is now with his boyhood club Atletico.

Cardiff manager Russell Slade has hit out at his predecessor Ole Gunnar Solskjaer by saying that the squad lacked any kind of coherence and planning.

He pointed out to the fact that the Championship outfit signed as many as 30 players at one point. This led to a bloated squad, and Slade believes that the team is paying the price for it right now. Manchester United defender Fabio Da Silva has revealed that he is now looking into the possibility of staying at Cardiff beyond the end of his loan spell.

He moved to the bluebirds on a loan deal from United till the end of the season. He may have been playing with the relegation threatened outfit only since January, but the 23-year-old has already become a fan’s favourite due to his endeavour on the pitch. He has also stated that he is very much looking forward to keeping the club in the Premier league, as they fight against the odds to stay in the division.

Fabio Da Silva has stated that the Cardiff city players should show more fight in order to get themselves out of relegation trouble.

The club started the game against Liverpool during the weekend extremely well. They managed to take the lead twice the encounter, but ended up losing the match 6-3. This result not only dampen their spirits, but also the possibility of getting out of the relegation zone. They are now three points adrift of safety with only nine matches remaining in the season.
